About Me
Raised in the northern town of Smithers, BC, Emerenne is a non-binary, multi-disciplinary artist who finds joy in everything hands-on from painting murals to constructing sets. They have experience in carpentry, prop building, and sewing, as well as set, prop, and costume design. As a visual artist, they have a diverse range of art styles and mediums. Emerenne loves creating impactful theatre and art that can start conversations, encourage empathy and inspire change.
As a Studio 58 production graduate, Emerenne has worked with various theatre companies including Studio 58, Carousel Theatre for Young People, and the Vancouver International Children’s Festival.
Fun Facts
❖ One of Emerenne’s greatest fears is crabs (Alive or dead) and in high school, they owned and operated an ice cream truck with their best friend.
❖ Emerenne has played the piano since they were 7 years old and has written several original songs. They hope to one day be brave enough to share them.
❖ Emerenne grew up on and around theatre sets because their father, Hans Saefkow, is an accomplished set designer and scenic painter himself.
