First Environmental Designs
We knew very early on that we wanted to incorporate traditional woodland style artwork into the set design, created by a first nations artist (Sharifa Marsden). With that in mind, I made a design that would blend both the traditional style with my own, Incorporating elements of the woodland style such as the black outline, concentric shapes and flowing, organic shapes.

Cavatica
The Spider Puppet
This was my first ever puppet making experience from scratch! We had a couple of options for the puppet style of Cavatica and we landed on a smaller, simpler puppet to allow Cavatica to sit on character’s shoulders and for easier storage on tour.
We wanted the design of the puppet itself to be more grounded in the real world but it still had to be child appropriate, as to not scare away our audience of grades K-7 students.
