Smithers Visitors Center Mural

In the summer of 2020, I collaborated with the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce and the Smithers Visitors Center staff to create a mural that represents the many aspects of Smithers BC. I designed a mural with bubbly, bright iconography that reflects Smithers’ outdoors-y roots, as well as the thriving business, trade, and musical aspects of our community. We also wanted to represent the large first nations community in Smithers so we collaborated with world-renowned Canadian First Nations artist, Roy Henry Vickers. Roy designed a square for us inspired by a local Smithereen (person from Smithers), that you can see in the top line, third bock from the Right. You can learn more about the murals meaning and stories behind the various symbols Here.
